London Marathon 2026

In Her Name, One Step at a Time

In August 2023, I lost my best friend — my mum — to ovarian cancer.

She was beautiful, kind, strong, hilarious (even when she didn’t mean to be), and the heart of our family. Life hasn’t felt the same without her — but I knew I wanted to do something big, bold, and a little bit bonkers in her honour.

So naturally, I signed up for a 26.2-mile run.

I’m raising money for Target Ovarian Cancer, a charity doing incredible work to improve early diagnosis, support women living with the disease, and fund the research we urgently need. Ovarian cancer is often called the “silent killer” — but with better awareness and funding, it doesn’t have to be.

Training for the marathon will involve early mornings, sore knees, questionable playlists, and a very real emotional rollercoaster. But every step I take is for my mum. She cheered me on through everything — and now it’s my turn to do something that would have made her both proud and slightly concerned for my sanity.

If you’re able to donate, I’d be so grateful. Every pound goes towards a future where no one has to lose someone they love too soon.

This one’s for you, Mum. And yes, I promise I’ll stretch properly. ❤️
