London Marathon 2027

I'm running 26.2 miles/42km on Sunday 25th April 2027...

How did I get here and why Target Ovarian Cancer?:

It was always on my bucket list to do a half marathon, and back in 2024, I finally took the plunge. A few fallen black toenails and suddenly five half marathons later... 2027 will be the year I complete my first FULL marathon! Even better, it’s in London, the city I’ve been lucky enough to call home for the last 14 years.

If you know me, this was always a big "no-no" or "never." Then it became, "If the universe tells me it's my time... then I have to." I've been EXTREMELY lucky to be one of the very few chosen to run with a charity supporting a cancer that sadly touched a close family member of mine (my grandma), making this experience incredibly close to my heart.

This isn't going to be easy. As the days get shorter and the weather gets gloomier and rainier, the training will be a huge challenge in itself. The distance my legs will have to endure on that Sunday is scary. It is the equivalent of me running all the way from Windsor Castle to Queen Mary University in East London in one go! *Internally Screaming*

So please consider donating as I embark on this winter training, DOUBLING the furthest distance (13.1 miles/22km) I have ever run to date, and showing everyone my true "cry face" again (recent cry was Cardiff Half..). Please know that your kind donation is going to an amazing charity that supports those affected by ovarian cancer.

A bit about Target Ovarian Cancer Charity:

Target Ovarian Cancer is the UK’s leading ovarian cancer charity, fighting the disease on three major fronts: improving early diagnosis, funding life-saving research, and providing direct support to families.

Ovarian cancer claims the lives of 11 women every day in the UK, making it deadlier than all other gynaecological cancers combined.

If caught at the earliest stage, 9 in 10 women will survive, yet two-thirds of cases are currently diagnosed late.

Your donations directly change this by funding vital GP training, community awareness leaflets, and specialist nurse support lines.

>£34 could enable two people to call our support line when they need advice and information they can trust

>£70 could update training for 10 GPs on ovarian cancer and best practice for early diagnosis

>£100 could give 100 people the right symptom information, making sure they access support as early as possible

Their recent breakthrough in June 2026 -A major and highly celebrated breakthrough advocated for by Target Ovarian Cancer is the approval of a revolutionary drug called mirvetuximab soravtansine (brand name Elahere) :
