Why I’m fundraising...
So in just 5 short months I’ll be donning the lycra again and running around the best city in the world for 26.2 miles all in aid of Target Ovarian Cancer.
Target Ovarian does so much fantastic work in the fight against one of the many horrible variations of the awful cancer disease.
It’s now over 12 years since ovarian cancer took my wonderful mother far too early. She wasn’t able to be there at my wedding or indeed able to meet her granddaughter Sadie and we miss her greatly every single day.
She dedicated her last few months with us to raising awareness and setting up charity events for Target Ovarian Cancer which I hugely respected and looked up to.
I promised her that I would keep fundraising for Target Ovarian Cancer after she was no longer able to and I’m delighted that I’ve been given the opportunity to represent them at the world’s most iconic marathon.
I’m more than aware of the financial challenges that we are all under currently but anything you can donate, big or small, would be going directly to very important cause. Focussing on symptom awareness, life-saving early diagnosis and better treatment and support for everyone affected by ovarian cancer.

Target Ovarian Cancer is the UK's leading ovarian cancer charity working to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide support to women with ovarian cancer.
Awareness of ovarian cancer is low, its share of UK research funding has dropped and three quarters of women with ovarian cancer say they do not get the support they need.
