The Ovarian Cancer Walk|Run, London

Thank you!

I am most grateful to you for visiting my fundraising page.

Many of us and our families have experienced a loved one battling cancer and the aftermath. I lost both my grandmothers (maternal and paternal) to ovarian cancer. Both diagnoses were made out of the blue (to a certain extent). From a very young age, I have closely followed developments and research into ovarian cancer through my own reading (based on the literature available to me). In particular, the importance of early life-saving diagnoses weighs heavy on my mind. My grandmothers didn’t lead very normal lives after their diagnoses. Perhaps with medical advances at that time, they could have survived and lived healthy lives.

I would very much like to contribute (in my own small way) to the research and focus on early diagnosis that Target Ovarian Cancer remain committed to.

In the memory of my grandmothers and with all my love, I am joining Target Ovarian Cancer’s 10k Run (London) event on Sunday, 22 October 2023.

My target is to help raise awareness and raise £1,000. Perhaps that’s ambitious. But I’d like to at least try.

I ran my first ever 10k in December. Those that know me would agree that I’m a fitness addict. But, I really had to mentally train myself for that initial 10k. I’d like to try that 10k again for Target Ovarian Cancer and (I hope) slowly work towards my personal goal to run a half marathon in 2024.

Thank you again for visiting my fundraising page.
