Why I’m fundraising...

Running the Landmarks Half Marathon is my attempt to raise awareness for ovarian cancer and contribute to the research for a cure.  

I have had four close family members impacted by cancer, not just ovarian. In 2009 I lost my great grandmother to ovarian cancer after battling breast cancer over 40 years earlier. 

In 2018 my mother was diagnosed with TNBC. 

A few years earlier my mums best friend who I consider a second mother also went through the same procedure.

As well as this, a close family friend was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer - with no symptoms or warning. 

Target Ovarian Cancer is the UK's leading ovarian cancer charity working to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide support to women with ovarian cancer.

Awareness of ovarian cancer is low, its share of UK research funding has dropped and three quarters of women with ovarian cancer say they do not get the support they need.

Together we can make sure women in the UK have the best chances of survival and get the right support at the right time, in a way that's right for them.
