Why I’m fundraising...
In October 2016, my life took an unexpected turn - my mum, a woman who had always been the rock of our family, was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer. Before her diagnosis, my mum had raised concerns with her GP for months, but unfortunately, the issue wasn’t addressed in time – this delay made the journey even harder. Despite all the challenges, what has truly shone through in all of this is my mum’s strength and resilience. After undergoing an incredibly invasive surgery and enduring the tough, gruelling process of chemotherapy, she continues to inspire me every day.
So this year, I’m taking part in the Great North Run to raise funds and awareness in aid of Target Ovarian Cancer, the UK's leading ovarian cancer charity. They target what’s important to stop ovarian cancer devastating lives – that means symptoms awareness, life-saving early diagnosis, better treatments and support for everyone affected by ovarian cancer.
Please support me in this cause, so that more people can benefit from the awareness, research, and care that Target Ovarian Cancer provides.
