Women who suffer from Ovarian Cancer now and in the future

Last year I ran the Cardiff Half Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK in memory of my Dad who i sadly lost to the disease a number of years ago. This year I want to run it again to support women who are suffering from Ovarian Cancer and to help progress the research into the disease to prevent women in the future from getting it.

I am not a natural runner, so although many long distance runners may not see running a half marathon as much of an achievement, for me this is difficult and I have had to train hard alongside a demanding job (as I know many people do) in order to be able to run the distance without injury and within a reasonable time. So, this will be a significant achievement for me. I therefore would ask that you donate generously for what is an extremely worthwhile charity and help improve the treatment for women countrywide.

Target Ovarian Cancer is the UK's leading ovarian cancer charity working to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide support to women with ovarian cancer.

Awareness of ovarian cancer is low, its share of UK research funding has dropped and three quarters of women with ovarian cancer say they do not get the support they need.

Together we can make sure women in the UK have the best chances of survival and get the right support at the right time, in a way that's right for them.
