Why I'm fundraising...
Three years ago, I faced my own battle with ovarian cancer. I had one ovary removed, along with the eggs it carried. After surgery, I completed two rounds of egg freezing: something that gave me hope for the future.
My cancer was found early, and I know how lucky that makes me - early detection quite literally saved my life. But too many others aren’t diagnosed until it’s too late.
On 19th October, I’ll be taking part in Ovar-Dressed London in Regent’s Park, where I’ll be ‘overdressed’ whilst attempting to complete a 10k - all to raise awareness and funds for Target Ovarian Cancer.
I’ll be participating whilst wearing giant fried egg costume - in honour of my lost ovary and the eggs I had to say goodbye to. It’s a silly outfit for a serious cause, and I hope it makes people smile, ask questions, and most importantly, start conversations about ovarian cancer.
Target Ovarian Cancer is the UK's leading ovarian cancer charity. They focus on what really matters: symptoms awareness, life-saving early diagnosis, better treatments, and crucial support for everyone affected.
Every step I take and every laugh my costume gets will be for those currently fighting, for those we’ve lost, and for everyone whose life has been touched by this disease.
Let’s raise awareness, spark conversations, and save lives.
Please donate if you can, and if not, a share or word of support means just as much. Together, we can transform the future for everyone diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
