Why I’m fundraising
This April I’m taking part in the Manchester Marathon to raise funds and awareness in aid of Target Ovarian Cancer.
Four years ago my auntie Sheenagh was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, a diagnosis that as for many women came far too late. Sheenagh was incredibly passionate about spreading awareness of ovarian cancer and its symptoms; even in her hardest moments she still wanted to help as many women as she could.
I promised Sheenagh I would run the marathon in honour of her and the Target Ovarian Cancer Charity- a charity that target what’s important to stop ovarian cancer devastating lives. That includes symptom awareness, life-saving early diagnosis, better treatments and support for everyone affected by ovarian cancer.
I know Sheenagh would be looking down smiling knowing that her legacy is continuing to spread awareness and helping other women for a cause so close to my family’s hearts .
