Why I’m fundraising...
In 2018 Zan was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer and she required chemotherapy and surgery. She then had a recurrence in 2021 requiring further treatment. Zan is still on treatment but is cancer free and doing really well. The support from Ovarian cancer charities have helped Zan in her recovery. In April I will be running the London landmarks half marathon to raise funds for Target Ovarian Cancer, to support the vital work they do raising awareness and providing support for those diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.
Target Ovarian Cancer is the UK's leading ovarian cancer charity working to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide support to women with ovarian cancer.
Awareness of ovarian cancer is low, its share of UK research funding has dropped and three quarters of women with ovarian cancer say they do not get the support they need.
Together we can make sure women in the UK have the best chances of survival and get the right support at the right time, in a way that's right for them.
