Why I’m fundraising...
Often with ovarian cancer the symptoms are misdiagnosed and not picked up until it has become advanced. So much more needs to be done to improve early diagnosis and fund life-saving research.
Over 7,000 women are diagnosed each year in the UK and over 4,000 women lose their lives each year – that's 11 women every day.
I contemplated long and hard whether to share my personal story and I’m deciding to in the hope to educate, raise awareness and spark a conversation that could save a life.
About 90% of those diagnosed with ovarian cancer are aged 40+. I was 26.
I was incredibly lucky that I was diagnosed at the earliest possible stage, 10 days after having surgery back in May I was told it was Stage 1 Ovarian Cancer.
Early diagnosis saves lives.
If you can spare anything it would mean the absolute world, not only to me but to the thousands of women this can help. I’m running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2024 and need your help!
