Running for Mum, Raising Hope for Others 💜
In August 2026, I lost my lovely mum, Zulal, after three years of living with ovarian cancer.
My mum was such a strong presence in all of our lives. She was full of life, always had her own ideas and something to say and lived with hope and strength even through the most difficult times. She left a mark on everyone whose life she touched and her absence is deeply felt.
Throughout her three years with ovarian cancer, she was incredibly brave and strong. She faced every stage of her illness with so much courage and I will always be proud of her.
I’m taking on this half marathon in her memory. Every mile I run will be for my mum, to honour her strength, her courage and the love she gave us. 💜
More than 320,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer worldwide each year and over 200,000 lose their lives to the disease, affecting countless families and loved ones.
I’m running and raising money for Ovarian Cancer Action to support vital research into earlier detection and better treatments, and to help create a future where more women can survive ovarian cancer and have more precious time with the people they love.
Running for my mum, Zulal and for everyone affected by ovarian cancer. 💜
