Shannon Corrigan

Why I'm fundraising...

Target Ovarian Cancer is the UK's leading ovarian cancer charity working to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide support to women with ovarian cancer.

Awareness of ovarian cancer is low, its share of UK research funding has dropped and three quarters of women with ovarian cancer say they do not get the support they need.

Together we can make sure women in the UK have the best chances of survival and get the right support at the right time, in a way that's right for them.

Raise awareness. Fund research. Save lives.

My Updates

In honour of my mum, Marion Corrigan

Tuesday 11th May
In 2017, my mum was diagnosed with Stage 3c Ovarian Cancer.  Upon diagnosis my mum was working as a full time Staff Nurse and appeared to be healthy in every way. The image of such a strong woman made this diagnosis even more difficult to understand and accept.  In January 2020, I lost my best friend and the woman I will be forever proud to call my mum.

Like many other women facing this pathway past and present, my mum fought this disease from start to finish with total strength and determination. Target ovarian works to improve chances of survival with early diagnosis, funding for research and support for women with Ovarian cancer.

My hope for the future is that more treatment is available, more awareness is raised and more women live on to make this type of cancer in particular curable at all stages.

Lets take the first step together?
On the 6th of June I will be walking in memory of my beautiful mum, Marion Corrigan. I would love if you could support me on this honourable journey and dig deep for such an imperative cause.

Thank you to my Sponsors
