Why I’m fundraising...

This October I will be running the London Royal Parks half marathon to raise money for the Target Ovarian Cancer charity.

As many of you know I was meant to be participating in the London Landmarks Half marathon last April however due to illness I was not able to run it. I want to thank Ovarian Cancer charity for being so accommodating and giving me a place to run in this half marathon instead. 

The Target Ovarian Charity aims to help further symptom awareness, life-saving early diagnosis, better treatment and support those who have been affected by ovarian cancer to make sure they have the best chance of survival.
Each year 7,400 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the UK. Awareness of ovarian cancer is low, its share of UK research funding has dropped and three quarters of women with ovarian cancer say they do not get the support they need.

This charity and strain of cancer particularly means a lot to me as my mum has been fighting ovarian cancer since 2019. I am passionate about raising awareness for the early detection of ovarian cancer and helping to raise money for the research of new treatments. Therefore, I would really like to show my support to my mum and all the warriors who have ovarian cancer by running the marathon to raise money for this charity.
