Terms and Conditions
You should print a copy of these terms and conditions or have a copy saved to your device for future reference.
These terms and conditions apply to the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday 4 April 2027 and all associated transactions.
The London Landmarks Half Marathon will be known as the 'Activity' for the basis of these terms and conditions.
These terms and conditions will apply to any contract between us for your taking part in the Activity (a 'Contract'). Please ensure you read these terms and conditions carefully and make sure that you understand them before proceeding with your commitment. Please note that before proceeding you will be asked to agree to these terms and conditions.
Please tick the box marked 'I agree' on the registration page if you accept them. If you refuse to accept these terms and conditions, you will not be able to proceed to register your support for the Activity.
We amend these terms and conditions from time to time as set out below.
Every time you wish to register with us, please check these terms and conditions as the terms and conditions displayed as at the time of your order will apply to that order.
These terms and conditions were most recently updated in August 2026.
These terms and conditions and any Contract between us will only be in the English language.
1. Availability of the Activity
The Activity displayed on the Website is subject to availability and is conditional on your acceptance of the Activity organiser's terms and conditions. This may involve you completing a secondary registration form for the event organiser. Failure to register with the event organiser will result in your place in the event being lost.
Target Ovarian Cancer may withdraw your place if:
- you do not meet the fundraising milestones – see section 6
- you fail to complete your registration with the event organisers within the set timeframe – see section 7
- you use any fundraising methods that are seen as unlawful or bring our brand into disrepute.
Target Ovarian Cancer has a limited number of charity places at the Activity, each of which it must pay for. As such, Target Ovarian Cancer must ensure that the places are used effectively.
Should you fail to meet the agreed fundraising pledge when the event is complete, you may not be eligible for a charity place in a future event. This is at the discretion of the organisation.
Activity Cancellations / Postponement: If the Activity is cancelled / postponed by the event organisers, and the event organiser allows us to defer entries to the Activity, your place will be transferred to the next available Activity owned by the event organiser. In some cases, this may include an option to join an alternative event organised by the same company if that is of interest to you. In line with the terms and conditions set out in your contract with us when accepting a charity place in this Activity, all money you raise must not be on the condition that the Activity is completed. Therefore, any money you have raised so far will be treated as a donation. If we can transfer your place, you will not be required to pay a registration fee again - we will provide you with a discount code to waive this fee.
2. Personal Information
We will need to share your first name, surname and email address with the event organisers. They will then email you so that you can complete the rest of your details and agree to their terms and conditions which will confirm your place in the Activity.
We will be in touch with you about your participation in the Activity using the contact details you have provided. We will send fundraising materials by post, keep you updated with information about the Activity via email, and if you have provided a phone number, we will contact you by phone and/or SMS and/or WhatsApp about the Activity as part of our support.
From the point of registration through to the close of the Activity, four weeks post event day, we will communicate with you about both fundraising and event-day logistics. You will not be able to withdraw from these stewardship communications as you have committed with your charity place to fundraise in aid of Target Ovarian Cancer and pledged to meet a fundraising target.
We will send you updates on your fundraising pledge, tools, and resources to help you reach it, as well as Activity-specific information such as how to register with event organisers and logistics for event day. We promise not to send you any information which is not related to your entry unless you have agreed to this.
3. Photography/Videography
By taking part, you confirm that you are happy for any photographs or footage taken by Target Ovarian Cancer during your participation in the Activity to be used to publicise Target Ovarian Cancer generally, including on our website, our social media channels, television and DVD/video broadcasts. If you do not want to be included in our photography/videography on event day, please opt out by notifying the fundraising team upon completing registration.
4. Variation
We may revise these terms and conditions if there are any changes to how we may accept payment from you or any changes to relevant laws and regulatory requirements. The terms and conditions displayed on the Website at the time of your order will be those which apply to the Contract between you and us.
5. Payment
You can pay for the Activity using the following cards: Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express. Payment of the fee is subject to the terms set out in this Agreement including our Cancellation policy in section 14.
6. Donations and fundraising pledge
You pledge to raise the £450 minimum fundraising target, which doesn’t include the registration fee, VAT or Gift Aid.
Upon registration, you commit to the following fundraising milestones (excluding registration fee, VAT or Gift Aid). If you do not reach these targets or miss a fundraising milestone, Target Ovarian Cancer reserves the right to revoke your place or offer it to someone on our waitlist.
- £112.50 by 1 November 2026 (25%)
- £225 by 1 February 2027 (50%)
- £450 by 4 April 2027 (event day)
If you've signed up after a deadline has already passed, you will be expected to raise the amount required for the following milestone.
We will use reasonable endeavours to bring the milestone deadlines to your attention. For example, we will aim to send out multiple reminders in the days before the milestone deadline. We will also try to contact you by email/telephone/SMS/WhatsApp via contact information you provided at registration.
If you do not reach these targets or miss a fundraising milestone, Target Ovarian Cancer has the right to revoke your place and offer it to someone else.
If you have any concerns about reaching your fundraising targets, please do contact our Events Team on 020 7923 5474 or email fundraising@targetovariancancer.org.uk and one of our team can help and support you.
You understand that donations are not refundable, even if you fail to take part or withdraw from the Activity. You must not indicate or imply to donors that payment is conditional to you completing the activity.
It is your responsibility to solicit all donations pledged to your fundraising activity and you must make it clear through your fundraising that you are raising money for Target Ovarian Cancer. If you need support with this, contact our team on fundraising@targetovariancancer.org.uk
All money raised must be donated to Target Ovarian Cancer and cannot be split with any other organisation or used for a participant’s expenses.
You understand that all money raised must be submitted to Target Ovarian Cancer by four weeks post event.
You understand that your fundraising page will close three months post event. If you fail to meet your fundraising pledge, you may be excluded from being eligible for a charity place entry in a future event.
You may use the ‘in aid of’ logo of Target Ovarian Cancer, which can be obtained from the fundraising team, for fundraising purposes connected with the Activity.
Donations you or your networks make must be paid directly to Target Ovarian Cancer, or through an approved online fundraising partner. Our preferred fundraising platform is Funraisin and we will create a page on your behalf and send you a link to it. Using Funraisin allows donations to be transferred to us in a quick and cost effective way.
Gift Aid conditions
- A deposit or registration fee is not a donation so is not eligible for Gift Aid.
- Where the participant is not paying the full cost of the event, the participant will be seen to be receiving some benefit. This means that connected persons cannot apply Gift Aid to any donations or sponsorship of the Activity.
- HMRC recognises it is not possible for the charity to check whether all sponsors are connected persons, so to mitigate the risk here, we are providing guidance to the participant to explain that sponsors connected with the participant cannot apply Gift Aid to their donation.
- A connected person is considered as a close family member. For more guidance see here >
7. Your Charity Entry: communications and termination
If you wish to end your support or withdraw from the Activity, please email fundraising@targetovariancancer.org.uk
If you terminate your support to us in respect of the Activity, you must pay us all donations immediately. If a donor has specified that their gift is on condition to you completing the Activity, and you have evidence to show this, you must get in touch by emailing fundraising@targetovariancancer.org.uk.
We will send you an email relating to your registration with the event organisers. Within one week of receiving this email, you must complete an additional online registration. This registration is mandatory and if you do not complete it, you may be withdrawn from the Activity. We will not be able to offer refunds on registrations fees or fundraising should this occur.
We will use reasonable endeavours to bring the deadline to your attention. For example, we will aim to send out multiple reminders in the days before the registration deadline. We will also try to contact you by email and/ or telephone via the contact information you provided at registration.
You acknowledge that there are a finite number of places for the event and, as such, there is a strict registration process. If you fail to meet the registration deadline, despite our best efforts to bring it to your attention, then we need to be able to release your place to another applicant.
WhatsApp community
A WhatsApp community is created for selected events where Target Ovarian Cancer has a team. The purpose of this group is to connect our events community and share updates in a timely and accessible way. This community is optional for you to join, and you can leave whenever you wish. Only Target Ovarian Cancer staff can approve people to join the community and joining information will only be shared to people who have registered for an Activity.
When you join a group, other members can see your phone number. You should only contact other members through the community chat and not via a direct message. If you receive an unsolicited message, please let Target Ovarian Cancer know and the person will be removed. You can however direct message an Admin who will be a member of Target Ovarian Cancer staff.
Target Ovarian Cancer has the right to remove any members from the group if they are offering medical advice, using language that others may find upsetting, swearing, soliciting support for a business interest or have been withdrawn from the Activity.
8. Deferrals, Injuries and Withdrawals
You agree to notify Target Ovarian Cancer immediately if you are no longer able to take part in the Activity and to follow the event organisers terms and conditions regarding withdrawing your place.
You agree that if you withdraw for any reason, including an unforeseen injury that any monies raised, including your registration fee, will be treated as a donation and will be non-refundable.
You understand that if you withdraw for any reason, we will be unable to offer you an automatic deferred entry into the following year’s event. We will assess deferral requests on a case-by-case basis and you will only be eligible if you have reached the fundraising milestone required by the time of the deferral request.
Should you wish to partake in the Activity the following year, requests will be taken on a case-by-case basis. You may need to pay the registration fee again and commit to raising the minimum sponsorship target.
If you are permitted to defer and the charity no longer has places in the Activity for the following year, an alternative event will be offered to you.
We will only defer a place for one year. If your place in the Activity is deferred, the fundraising pledge may increase for the following year. We will confirm this with you at the time you wish to defer.
9. Event Organisers Terms and Conditions
You understand the Activity is not organised by Target Ovarian Cancer but by a third-party event organiser. It’s your responsibility to read any emails and terms and conditions issued by the event organiser, complying with these always.
Due to the above, you understand that we may need to share details like your name and email address with the event organiser and, where necessary, with other third parties involved in the administration of the Activity.
You understand that Target Ovarian Cancer cannot be held responsible for any injury or illness related to your training or participation in the Activity – you are responsible for your own ability to complete the event safely, and for any medical conditions.
You must follow any guidelines and instructions of the event organisers in participating in the Activity. If you are unsure of your physical ability to take part, you should take medical advice from a general practitioner prior to the Activity.
Target Ovarian Cancer is not hosting this event and is in no way responsible for the Activity.
10. Limitation on Liability
You confirm that you will be at least 17 years of age when the Activity takes place and that you are in a fit condition to participate.
You confirm you will not participate in the Activity if you are injured, not in good health, or not fit enough to undertake the Activity safely. Target Ovarian Cancer is not hosting this Activity and is in no way responsible for the Activity.
Our liability under or in connection with this Activity shall be limited to £1.00 for each and every claim in the aggregate. This limit shall apply however that liability arises, including, without limitation, a liability arising by breach of contract, arising by tort (including, without limitation, the tort of negligence) or arising by breach of statutory duty. This section 11 shall not exclude or limit our liability for: a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; or b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
