Frequently Asked Questions
We have included some frequently asked questions below. If you can’t find the answer that you’re looking for, please do get in touch by emailing us at fundraising@targetovariancancer.org.uk or by calling us on 020 7923 5474.
Event Day
How old do I have to be to take part?
You must be 17+ on Race Day (Sunday 5 October 2025) to take part in this event.
Where does the Cardiff Half Marathon take place?
The race takes place in Cardiff, starting outside Cardiff Castle and ending in the heart of the city. If you are travelling from far, we would recommend booking your accommodation as soon as you have secured your running place.
Joining Team Target
I got my own place through the ballot/membership. Can I still join Team Target?
Yes, we would love for you to join our team and you'll receive the same support as someone who is running with a charity place.
There is no minimum fundraising target - we just hope you'll raise as much as you can!
Please note, we do ask for proof of your own place to avoid confusion or disappointment.
Race Pack
When will I receive my race pack?
The event organisers will be sending your race pack and it will arrive within 7 days of the event at the latest. This will contain your Race Number and Timing Chip.
If you are an Overseas Entrant, you will need to collect it from the Event Village. Overseas entrants will be emailed details on timing and locations for race pack pick up.
If your race pack does not arrive in the post, please email cardiffhalfmarathon@run4wales.org on the Friday of race weekend and they will arrange a replacement pack for collection at the race.
When will I receive my charity running top?
Whether you requested a running vest or t-shirt, we'll post this to you approximately one month before the event.
When will I receive my iron-on letters?
Separately from your running top, we'll post your iron-on letters to you approximately one month before the event.
Fundraising
How does my fundraising help?
Your support makes all the difference to ensure that we can continue working to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide support to women with ovarian cancer.
£17 means our nurse-led support line can help one more person who needs advice and information they can trust.
£50 can help 50 people learn about the symptoms of ovarian cancer through our leaflets. Knowing the symptoms and when to visit the GP can vastly improve early diagnosis.
£250 could fund a day of life-saving research. We're working to improve ovarian cancer diagnosis and treatment for everyone now, and in the future.
How do I get started with my fundraising?
Once you have completed your registration with us, your charity fundraising page is automatically created for you. We would highly recommend personalising your page with a profile photo, your reason for supporting us and then sharing this with your family, friends, colleagues and on social media.
How can you help me reach my fundraising goal?
Our dedicated team are here to support you every step of the way, so please get in touch if there is anything that you need. We can chat through any ideas that you might have for fundraising, such as holding an event or raffle.
Where can I order fundraising materials (e.g. collection boxes)?
You can order them on our web form here >
