Frequently Asked Questions
We have included some frequently asked questions below. If you can’t find the answer that you’re looking for, please do get in touch by emailing us at fundraising@targetovariancancer.org.uk or by calling us on 020 7923 5474.
Event Day
How old do I have to be to take part?
You must be 18+ on Race Day (Sunday 27 April 2025) to take part in this event.
Where does the London Marathon take place?
The race starts in Blackheath (South East London) and finishes at The Mall. If you are travelling from far, we would recommend booking your accommodation as soon as you have secured your running place.
Joining Team Target
I got a place through the ballot. Can I still join Team Target?
Yes, we would love for you to join Team Target! Great news - there is no registration fee or minimum fundraising target, we just hope you'll raise as much as you can! You will receive all the same support as someone who is running on a charity place.
Please note we will ask for proof of your own place secured through the ballot.
Race Pack
When will I receive my race pack?
You will need to collect your race pack in person at the TCS London Marathon Running Show, which takes place in East London, the four days leading up to Race Day.
This will contain your all-important bib number, which you must wear on Race Day.
Someone can collect your race pack on your behalf - details will be available closer to the time.
Please note that the event organisers will not send them in the post and you cannot collect on Race Day itself.
Whether you requested a running vest or t-shirt, we will be sending this to you approximately one month before your race.
Separately from your running top, you will receive your iron-on letters in the post one month before your race.
Fundraising
How does my fundraising help?
Your support makes all the difference to ensure that we can continue working to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide support to women with ovarian cancer.
£17 means our support line can help one more person who needs advice and information they can trust.
£50 can help 50 people learn about the symptoms of ovarian cancer through our leaflets. Knowing the symptoms and when to visit the GP can vastly improve early diagnosis.
£250 can fund a day of life-saving research. We're working to improve ovarian cancer diagnosis and treatment for everyone now, and in the future.
How do I get started with my fundraising?
Once you have completed your registration with the charity, your fundraising page is automatically created for you to make fundraising quick and easy! We highly recommend personalising your page with a profile photo and your reason for supporting us and then sharing your page with your family, friends and colleagues on your different social media platforms to help kickstart your fundraising!
Our dedicated team are here to support you every step of the way, so please get in touch if there is anything that you need. We can chat through any ideas that you might have for fundraising, such as holding an event or raffle.
You can order them on our web form here.
