My diagnosis...
I went to my GP on 6th July with some odd symptoms including extreme bloating and constipation. After 24 hours of tests and scans, I was told I had ovarian cancer.
By the end of July, and lots more tests and hospital admissions, I had my formal diagnosis of Stage 4 Ovarian high-grade serous carcinoma which unfortunately is very aggressive and has spread to my lymph nodes and lungs.
My treatment begins on Thursday 6th August and although I have been told my cancer is not curable, it is very treatable and I am ready for the fight of my life... for my life!
As you can imagine, this charity is incredibly important to me as, like many other women, it has been detected at a very late stage.
Me and Mum as well as some of closest friends are therefore taking part in Ovar-Dressed London to raise funds and awareness in aid of Target Ovarian Cancer, the UK's leading ovarian cancer charity. They target what’s important to stop ovarian cancer devastating lives – that means symptoms awareness, life-saving early diagnosis, better treatments and support for everyone affected by ovarian cancer.
