Frequently Asked Questions
We have included some frequently asked questions below. If you can’t find the answer that you’re looking for, please do get in touch by emailing us at [email protected] or by calling us on 020 7923 5474.
Event Day
How old do I have to be to take part?
You must be 18+ on Race Day (Sunday 21 April 2024) to take part in this event.
Where does the London Marathon take place?
The race starts in Blackheath (South East London) and finishes at The Mall. If you are travelling from far, we would recommend booking your accommodation as soon as you have secured your running place.
Joining Team Target
Yes – we would love for you to join our team! There is no minimum fundraising, we just ask you to raise as much as you can. You will receive all the same support as someone who is running on a charity place.
Race Pack
Your Event Pack contains your all-important bib number, which you must wear on Marathon Day. You will need to collect your pack in person at the TCS London Marathon Running Show which takes place in the four days leading up to Race Day in East London.
Someone can collect your Event Pack on your behalf - details will be available closer to the time. Please note that the event organisers will not send them in the post and you cannot collect on Race Day itself.
Whether you requested a running vest or t-shirt, we will be sending this to you approximately one month before your race.
Separately from your running top, you will receive your iron-on letters in the post one month before your race.
Fundraising
How does my fundraising help?
Your support makes all the difference to ensure that we can continue working to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide support to women with ovarian cancer.
£10 means 10 newly diagnosed women a month will receive our information guide to support them through their diagnosis.
£25 means three GPs a month can access training on early diagnosis of ovarian cancer.
£50 can help 50 people learn about the symptoms of ovarian cancer through our leaflets. Knowing the symptoms and when to visit the GP can vastly improve early diagnosis.
£250 can fund a day of life-saving research. We're working to improve ovarian cancer diagnosis and treatment for everyone now, and in the future.
Once you have registered with the charity, you will have a fundraising page automatically set up for you. We would highly recommend personalising your page with a profile photo and your reason for supporting before sharing with your family and friends.
Our dedicated team are here to support you every step of the way, so please get in touch if there is anything that you need. We can chat through any ideas that you might have for fundraising, such as holding an event or raffle.
You can order them on our web form here.
