Raising awareness and checking early symptoms is crucial
As ovarian cancer is affecting my family and I am really keen to raise awareness of the symptoms with friends and family as we all have people in our lives who could be affected by ovarian cancer. Have a look at the symptoms on the NHS or a trusted medical website. They include
-a swollen tummy or feeling bloated
-pain or tenderness in your tummy or the area between your hips (pelvic pain)
-no appetite or feeling full quickly after eating
-indigestion
-constipation or diarrhoea
-back pain
-feeling tired all the time
-losing weight without trying
As September is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month my family and I are taking part in Ovar-Dressed London to raise funds and awareness in aid of Target Ovarian Cancer, the UK's leading ovarian cancer charity. They target what’s important to stop ovarian cancer devastating lives – that means symptoms awareness, life-saving early diagnosis, better treatments and support for everyone affected by ovarian cancer.
